In 2011, Mark Inglis bought what was then JP Howden Auto Electrics. Back then, the focus was on building a solid reputation with quality workmanship. Over a decade later, we’ve grown into something more — and it’s time the name reflected that.
Welcome to Apex Auto Tech.
The new name isn’t about a change in ownership or service — it’s about better representing what we actually do. While we built our reputation as auto electricians, the reality is that the term “auto electrician” feels outdated. Today, any capable workshop should have the skills and equipment to handle most electrical faults. What sets us apart isn’t the label — it’s the way we approach diagnosis and repair.

Apex recently carried out work on our car, it wasn’t a straightforward job by any manner or means and I can only commend their dedication and professionalism in the amount of work that they undertook to resolve the issue. The job was extensive and yet the final bill in no way reflected the amount of time they spent on the job. It should have been far more. Now that’s not something you see very often these days. Well done Apex.
